Good Afternoon Fox Mill Families,
We hope you and your family enjoyed the shortened week of school and the time off for Yom Kippur yesterday. For those who observed, we hope the holiday gave you an opportunity for quiet reflection and meaningful fast. We look forward to great and full week of school next week.

Bike to School Day -Wednesday October 8th
Get ready to roll! Bike to School Day is the perfect chance to trade four wheels for two and start your morning with a blast of fresh air and fun. Ditch the car and the kiss and ride line as you enjoy the sunshine and pedal your way with your kids to school. Grab your helmet, check your tires, and join the hundreds of students making a healthy, happy, and eco-friendly trip to school!
Attendance Matters
Every Day Is a Stepping Stone to Success
Attendance is an important life skill that will help your child later in life. It’s a good habit to build now to help them graduate from college on time and routinely report to work on time once they have a career.
Please take a look at the FCPS Calendar. Try to schedule any trips or family events on weekends and school holidays. Every day of learning is a day toward success. Keep in mind that absences add up quickly. Students who are absent 10% of the school year (or just two days per month) are considered “chronically absent.”
When possible, schedule appointments for your child outside of school hours. If your child needs to miss school because of an illness or appointment, you must report the absence to our school. Please contact our school’s front office or your child’s teacher to report any absences.

It's the Final Week of the Fun Run campaign!
With just one week left until the Fun Run, our campaign is in its final stages, and we are getting closer and closer--almost 2/3 of the way to our $40K goal!! The top grades and classes are all incredibly close--every contribution counts! - Tuesday - Crazy hair
- Wednesday - Bike to school day in grade colors (K - Red, 1 - Orange, 2 - Yellow, 3 - Green, 4 - Blue, 5 - Purple, 6 - Black)
- Thursday - Rest up for the Run - Pajama Day
- Friday - Socks and Sprints - wear crazy socks and your running gear, and get your Fun Run shirt at school
