Hello MUES Families,
This past Wednesday was Custodial Appreciation Day. We are so very fortunate to have the kindest and most supportive custodial staff! Please join me in extending a heartfelt thank you to Ms. Escobar, Mr. Pham, Ms. Garcia, Mr. Lee and Ms. Hernandez! They work hard everyday to keep our school ready for us to work and learn in!
Next Thursday, please be sure to check your Mustang's Thursday Folder as you will receive their 1st quarter interim report, which will capture how they are doing both academically and behaviorally up to this point of the school year. If you have questions about your child's performance, please write them down to ask their teacher at your upcoming fall parent-teacher conference. Our parent-teacher conference window will run from Monday, October 27th through Friday, November 21st. Your child's homeroom teacher will be in touch soon with how to sign-up for a fall conference.
October is here! I wish everyone a nice fall weekend!
Your Proud Principal,
Mrs. Goddin

FCPS is continuing to explore options for adjusting school start times, with the primary goal of beginning the middle school day at 8 a.m. or later. In order to minimize any costs associated with this change, elementary and high school start times would need to shift as well.
Providing feedback opportunities for the community is a critical part of this effort. Since 2024, FCPS’ consultant has hosted five community forums and administered two surveys. A new School Start Times Survey is open and includes two options that are designed to support student well-being, align with research, balance transportation logistics, and minimize costs.
Staff, parents and caregivers, students, and community members may provide input on the two options by taking the survey. The survey deadline has been extended to Monday, October 6. Find more information on adjusting school start times on the FCPS website.
