A Note from Dr. Goodloe:

Dear Chantilly Community,

October is here. Bring on the fall leaves, cooler temperatures, and all the fun! We are excitedly preparing for Homecoming week. Please see information about our spirit week and how to buy dance tickets.  Also note that we will have new procedures in place on game day, October 10.  We will send additional information out about the annual parade, Taste of Chantilly, and the football game next week so please stay tuned!

Thank you Chantilly Custodians!

October 2, 2025 was National Custodian Appreciation Day! We know that our custodial team are some of the hardest working and caring people on the Chantilly staff and they take great pride in making sure our building and grounds are clean and secure. Next time you see one of our awesome team members, please be sure to say thank you!

Chantilly Clinic Reminders for Student Dismissal:

We've noticed a recent increase in students calling home before coming to the clinic when they feel unwell. Please remind your students of the proper procedure if they are not feeling well and need to go home:

  • They must get an eHallPass to the clinic.
  • The clinic staff will assess them.
  • The clinic staff will contact a parent/guardian to arrange pickup.

This process is in place to ensure the student's health is assessed and monitored by clinic staff before leaving school grounds. Thank you for helping us ensure our students are safe, healthy and accounted for!

Chantilly Homecoming Events

We cannot wait to celebrate Chantilly Hocochella - Homecoming Week October 6-11! Read below for our spirit week themes and dance ticket information.

Please note:

  • All students will be expected to show student ID/SIS Student view before entering the football game.
  • Middle and Elementary aged students must be accompanied by an adult throughout the Homecoming events and game.
  • No bags or bottles are permitted in the Chantilly stadium.
  • Anyone not meeting conduct expectations will be asked to leave.

⏰ K-12 School Start Times Survey

FCPS is continuing to explore options for adjusting school start times, with the primary goal of beginning the middle school day at 8 a.m. or later. In order to minimize any cost for this project, elementary and high school start times would need to shift as well.

Providing feedback opportunities for the community is a critical part of this effort. Since 2024, FCPS’ consultant has hosted five community forums and administered two surveys. A new School Start Times Survey is open and includes two options that are designed to support student well-being, align with research, balance transportation logistics, and minimize costs.

Staff, parents and caregivers, students, and community members may provide input on the two options by taking the survey. The survey deadline has been extended to Monday, October 6. Find more information on adjusting school start times.

Thank you for your support and partnership. Together WE Lead the Charge! I look forward to connecting with you at Chantilly very soon!

Sincerely,

Amy T. Goodloe, Ed.D.

Principal, Chantilly HS

2026-27 FAFSA Form Now Open (HS)

Federal Student Aid has made the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available ahead of the scheduled release date. Any college-bound high school senior — regardless of income — who wants to be considered for federal, state, and school financial aid programs should complete a FAFSA form. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to work with their students to complete the FAFSA as early as possible. Families should check each college’s financial aid office website for deadlines and financial aid forms. They will need to create an account to fill out the FAFSA.

The Virginia Alternative State Aid (VASA) application has not yet opened but should be available in late January for students who are unable to complete the FAFSA. To help determine which aid option is most appropriate, families can visit the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia website.

Over the next few months, College Access Fairfax will be offering several programs on completing the FAFSA/VASA and finding and applying for scholarships. Get information on these programs and how to access them on the College Access Fairfax website.

In addition, College Access Fairfax staff are available for virtual one-on-one help sessions to complete the FAFSA/VASA. To request an appointment, families should email appointments@CollegeAccessFairfax.org.

FCPS Boundary Meetings

Participate in an Upcoming Community Boundary Review Meeting

FCPS will hold two sets of community boundary review meetings this fall — one in September and another in October. Each set of meetings will focus on two pyramids per meeting.

All September meetings will include an overview of where FCPS is in the comprehensive boundary review process, an update and opportunity for feedback on school start times, how community input is informing the process, and next steps in the boundary review process.

The meeting for our pyramid will be held on Tuesday, October 28 at 6:30 PM.

Visit the FCPS website for a full list of meeting dates and information about the October meetings.

Chantilly Fall Musical - Newsies!

Newsies

It's time to carry the banner on your stage with Disney's Newsies! Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right!

Based on the 1992 motion picture and inspired by a true story, Newsies features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken (Little Shop of HorrorsSister Act) and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots). Featuring the now classic songs “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “Santa Fe,” Newsies is packed with non-stop thrills and a timeless message, perfect for the whole family and every audience.

Show Schedule

  • Thursday, October 16 at 7pm (Opening Night)
  • Friday, October 17 at 7pm
  • Saturday, October 18 at 7pm
