Dear Beech Tree Families,
We have several events coming up this month and we urgently need more volunteers for
the Book Fair:
· The Book Fair is almost here! It starts next Monday October 6th and runs through the 9th
in the Library. Thanks to the parent at our first PTA meeting last month who suggested an
option to donate for kids who might need help buying books. Here is a link if you’d like to
contribute. And thanks to all who have signed up to volunteer! We still need a few more
volunteers next week so please sign up here. EVERYONE can volunteer--you don't need
to have completed the background check process for Book Fair since Ms. Britton and other
teachers will be present all day.
o Speaking of background checks, the volunteer process has changed this year.
If you plan on volunteering to chaperone any of the upcoming field trips, make
sure you fill out the application ASAP and watch the video:

· The Mile of Quarters fundraiser for a new digital marquee sign for Beech Tree officially
kicked off on Monday. Send in any pocket change or couch coins change your kids can scrounge
up (they seem very good at finding money that is not theirs)! You can also Venmo to the PTA
(@BeechTreePTA), but make sure you write exactly what you are donating for (PTA dues,
Mile of Quarters, etc.)
· Our next PTA meeting is Thursday October 9th at 6pm in the Cafeteria. We had a great
turnout last time and hope we meet (or exceed!?!) those numbers. All caregivers are invited.
Childcare for 2yrs and up will be available on site. A food truck from DC Slices will be outside
as well. Hope to see you there! Come for the Book Fair, grab dinner at the Food Truck,
and stay for the PTA meeting!
· We have our first restaurant night coming up. Eat at the Red Robin in Seven Corners
ANY TIME on Tuesday October 14th (dine-in or take-out) and Beech Tree will receive 20%
of the sale. Just show this flyer when you order. We'll also be sending a flyer home in
Wednesday folders next week.
