Patriots linebacker Jack Gibbens has sensed his teammates acting tentatively at the start of their last two games, against the Steelers and Panthers.
“It just seems like we’re waiting until that first big play is made, and then we’re like, ‘All right, now we’re in the game, let’s go,’ ” Gibbens said Monday as the 2-2 Patriots began preparing for Sunday night’s game at Buffalo. “We just got to come out with that immediately and get that thing happening in the first series.”
The last two weeks, quarters 2-4 have been great, but the Patriots have been sloppy and sleepy during the first quarter, with zero offensive touchdowns scored, three allowed, and eight penalties committed.
