FCPS Cares Honors Mrs. Katy Carlson

Forestville was delighted to celebrate third grade teacher, Mrs. Katy Carlson as she was selected as the Region 1 Cares of the Month recipient for the month of June. Through this program, the FCPS Recognition office provides the school of the regional FCPS Cares of the Month recipient with a small budget to host a treat for the staff to celebrate this special recognition. Forestville staff was treated to an ice-cream sundae bar as we celebrated with Mrs. Carlson. A highlight from her nomination included, "Overall, Mrs. Carlson provided students a loving environment to grow their skills and encouraged a positive, growth mindset." Congratulations Mrs. Carlson!

Blue Star Welcome Week Breakfast

Forestville kicked off an early edition for FCPS Blue Star Welcome Week that will be hosted later this month. Military connected families and students were invited and treated to a bagel breakfast where they got to meet other military connected families and we thank our school counselor Mrs. Schnaue, for organizing this event. Forestville has recently submitted our application to be recognized as a Purple Star school and we look forward to continuing to support the growing number of military families in our community!

Fridays are Spirit Days Forestville reminds all families to have students wear our school colors (red/black) and/or Forestville Spirit Wear on Fridays! It is a fun way to end the week and lead into the weekend. Our staff LOVE our Friday Forestville Spirit days!

Help Wanted! Dining Room Assistant Forestville is seeking help in our Cafeteria! We are hoping to hire an additional Dining Room Assistant or two to support our lunch hours from 10:30 - 2:00. As this is an hourly position, we have the flexibility to set time windows within that time as well.
