Premier François Legault has announced work at the National Assembly will resume later than planned and that his promised cabinet shuffle will take place next week.
Delaying the session — known as proroguing parliament — buys Legault and his ministers time, as well as offering them another chance to try to reboot the government, The Gazette's Phil Authier explains.
The move was met with swift criticism from opposition parties, who accused the premier of delaying the democratic process for partisan reasons.
