Farewell to One of Our Amazing Custodians
We would like to thank Dina Alvarado for her 20 years of service to Key MS. She has been a valued part of our custodial team and a huge part of the reason our school continues to be one of the cleanest and well maintained facilities in FCPS.
We appreciate her service to our building, the staff and families of Key MS.
We want to Congratulate her and wish her all the best going forward.

Cell Phone Policy Update
- Cell phones must be off and stored in lockers during all instructional periods, bell to bell.
- Cell phone use is restricted, and cell phones may only be used on campus before the first bell at 7:30am, and after the last bell at 2:15pm.
- Students are prohibited from using phones, tablets, and other mobile devices in restrooms and locker rooms.
- If a student violates the cell phone policy by possessing or using their cell phone when it is prohibited, the phone will be confiscated by a school official and held in the main office.

Key MS 2025 Jumpstart Program
The purpose of the 2025 JumpStart Program is to introduce rising 7th grade and NEW rising 8th grade students to Key Middle School. Students will familiarize themselves with the layout of the school; including a tour of the facility, cafeteria setup, and much more! Our hope is to ease your child’s transition into middle school as well as address positive study skills, time management and organizational skills. The JumpStart Program has been shown to aid in the elimination of any anxiety and fear that the first day of school may bring. During the program, future Patriots will have a chance to meet Key MS staff members and form new friendships. Program Offerings… Jumpstart will be offered on Friday August 1st from 9am-1pm. We will serve roughly 200 students. Spots will fill up quickly!
