New City Website Coming Early Next Week
Look for our redesigned city website early next week. The address remains the same - fairfaxva.gov - but the new site features a modern layout and improved structure and navigation.
The redesign is the result of more than a year of research, staff collaboration, and community input. Beginning in 2023, the city analyzed site analytics, heatmaps, user behavior, and survey responses. This research revealed key challenges with navigation, outdated content, and inconsistent formatting.
In response, the city consolidated hundreds of outdated pages, improved search functionality, and reorganized content to reflect how website visitors actually use the site.
Key features:
-
Responsive design for use on desktop and mobile devices
-
Predictive search bar to find services faster
-
Streamlined homepage with direct access to top tasks, such as:
- Online payments
- Reporting issues through Fairfax City Resolve (Ready311)
- CUE Bus routes and schedules
- Permit applications
- City events and meetings
- Project updates and news

We want to hear from you. We will continue to refine content and features based on your needs and feedback. If you have comments, suggestions, or run into any issues, please email wecare@fairfaxva.gov.
