Superstar musician Bad Bunny recently returned to his native Puerto Rico for a three-month residency that’s expected to play to 600,000 fans in 30 sold-out shows. Tickets for the first nine were offered exclusively to island residents, some of whom are growing tired of tourists. While many locals acknowledge tourism’s role as an economic driver, others worry about displacement and the erosion of cultural authenticity. That includes Davelyn Tardi, the public relations director for Discover Puerto Rico. “We want responsible visitors, those who come to get to know the culture, to support the communities and, above all, leave the island better than they found it.” On Instagram |
