Avoid Delays—Learn How Our Turnaround Process Works
When you're working against tight timelines, understanding what impacts your PCB assembly turnaround is more than helpful—it’s critical. At ASC Sunstone and Screaming Circuits, we’re committed to providing the transparency, flexibility, and speed your projects demand. Whether you're building a single prototype or managing a complex, production-ready design, knowing what affects your lead time can help you plan smarter and avoid unnecessary delays.
We’ve outlined several key factors that influence how quickly your assembled boards can be delivered—and how you can take advantage of services and best practices to keep things moving smoothly:
Key Factors Affecting Lead Times:
Order Type: Standard orders typically have a material lead time of 7-10 days before assembly begins. If you need an expedited material lead time, reach out to our customer services representatives for assistance.
Standard Orders: Assembly cannot begin until we have received all the materials and files needed for your job. If bare boards or parts are being ordered or sent to Screaming Circuits, there will be a materials lead time. If you are supplying panelized bare boards to Screaming Circuits the panel data or panel Gerbers will be required before assembly can begin.
Quick-Turn Services: For urgent projects, we offer quick-turn PCB fabrication and assembly. PCB fabrication can be completed in as little as 2 days, with assembly turnaround as fast as 24 hours after we receive your parts and final data.Component Availability: The availability of parts can impact lead times. Ensuring that components are readily available or opting for our turnkey services can help mitigate delays.
Proper Packaging: Taking the time to correctly package and label your parts can prevent assembly delays and increase the likelihood that your boards will arrive on schedule. Be sure to always include your order number on your package.
Tips for Streamlining Your Order:
Early Planning: Initiate your order process early, especially for complex projects or those requiring specific components.
Utilize Our Online Tools: Our web-based Online Quote & Order system simplifies the ordering process, allowing for instant pricing and streamlined submissions.
Please note that Screaming Circuits reviews every quote request and order to ensure accurate pricing and successful assembly. In some cases, additional tooling, fixtures, stencils, or materials may be required. If that happens, we’ll reach out with a price adjustment. While we do our best to identify these needs early, some issues only come up after the quoting stage.
