Trump thinks he should get the Nobel Peace Prize. He makes no bones about it. So it came as no surprise when Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu (under indictment on corruption charges himself) announced this week while visiting the White House that he’d nominated Trump. The Peace Prize was created in the will of established by the will of a Swede, Alfred Nobe, who directed that it be awarded to the person who "shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses" in the previous year. That doesn’t sound like Donald Trump to me. Previous winners include American Presidents Barack Obama and Jimmy Carter. Ellie Wiesel, Desmond Tutu, and Lech Walesa are all Nobel Peace Prize winners. You can find a list of all the laureates here. So, who would you nominate if it were up to you? Surely not Donald Trump. I think we can do better.
