Wominjeka! It's ABC science reporter Jacinta Bowler, chuffed to be in your inbox once again.
About a week ago, amateur astronomers clocked a space object going fast ... like, 60-kilometres-a-second fast.
In astronomy groups, there was plenty of chatter about what this object could be and frantic data searches to try and find where it had emerged from.
After just a few days, it was calculated this object was from outside of our Solar System.
Now called 3I/ATLAS, it is one of only three interstellar objects that scientists have ever discovered.
Like the second object, Comet 2I/Borisov, this one is likely a comet.
We knew all of this by Thursday last week!!
I'm so obsessed with this story, because not only is it cool that we've found the third ever interstellar object, but it shows how the astronomical community can absolutely gun it by working together.
If you want to know more, I'd recommend checking out the whole article. There's a great diagram in there showing how weirdly straight this comet is travelling.
In other news, my colleague Ellen Phiddian has written a cracker story about the first entire genome sequenced from an ancient Egyptian.
Can you tell I'm a sucker for a new discovery?
Also, while Robyn Williams is taking a well-deserved break before the Science Show's big 50th celebrations, Belinda Smith has taken over the helm of the program for a couple of weeks. If you listen closely, you might even hear a little audio piece from yours truly.
Finally, we're all Dr Karl fans here, but if you're also in Sydney, we have a special little announcement for you.
As triple j celebrates 50 years, Science with Dr Karl is happening live for the first time ever.
Grab your tickets here to the event at the Enmore Theatre, Sydney, if you don't want to miss out.
P.S. We love hearing from you! If you've got feedback or something else you want to tell us about? Send us an email.
