VenHub has launched a fully autonomous smart store at the LAX/Metro Transit Center in Los Angeles, designed to operate 24/7 without the need for human staff. The store is tailored for high-traffic locations, offering a frictionless customer experience through a mobile app that handles ordering, payment and pick-up notifications.
Google Home has introduced a new Member role to give users control over who can access and manage smart home devices. The feature allows the main user to set different access levels for guests, enhancing security and flexibility. The update also supports users under age 13 with access to basic smart home features without changing important settings.
Ford Motor CEO Jim Farley has voiced his preference for Waymo's lidar-based approach to autonomous vehicles over Tesla's camera-only system, citing safety and consumer trust. While Farley praised Tesla and Waymo for their progress on self-driving technology, he said Waymo's approach provides a better view than Tesla's system: "Where the camera will be completely blinded, the lidar system will see exactly what's in front of you."
Spotify is expanding user control features, allowing Premium subscribers to filter Discover Weekly recommendations by genre. In addition to these new playlist controls, Spotify has recently added other tools, such as the ability to preview and edit the upcoming queue and a snooze function for songs users want to temporarily skip. These changes will give listeners more input into their music experience and how recommendations are generated.
Amazon has expanded its free fulfillment center tours, giving customers an inside look at the company's delivery process. During these one-hour tours, visitors are guided by Amazon Tour Leaders and can meet associates, observe the technology and processes in action and participate in Q&A sessions. The tours highlight safety, wellness and Amazon's unique culture, offering a comprehensive overview of how orders are prepared and shipped.
