Principal’s Message

West Potomac Community,

It has been a great week.  Graduation was amazing on Monday, and we began our half days this week for final projects and exams.

ffffff

Next week is our final week of school.  Wednesday June 11th is the last day.  Please see my reminder below:

Instead of going through all periods, we will have all students report to the main gym. Please be advised a few things about this day.

Overview for June 11

  • Students will not be able to get passes for any reason to see a faculty member and leave the gym. If you need to speak with a student, you need to come to the main gym.
  • Departments will be assigned a 30-minute period to assist with supervision (see below).
  • Counselors will be in the gym from 8:30-9:00am to support supervision and summer school follow up.
  • Breakfast (8-8:10am) will be in the café.  There is no grab and go lunch on the last day of school.

8:10-8:40am - Math, ESOL

8:40-9:10am - English, Fine and Performing Art, World Languages

9:10-9:40am - Social Studies, SPED

9:40-10:10am - Science, CTE, PE

Dismissal at 10:10 AM

FCPS CARES submission:

I wanted to shout out Ms. Karla Wiggins, long term substitute teacher! She has come in and done an excellent job for several teachers in our department over the last couple of years. She is professional and organized and works well with the students. She always makes it easier when we have a teacher out for an extended period of time!

Have a great weekend!

Jessica Statz, Principal

fffff

Congratulations WPHS Class of 2025!
