Move over, Taylor Swift. A 30-year-old college dropout is now the youngest self-made woman billionaire on the planet.

Lucy Guo cofounded buzzy artificial intelligence startup Scale AI in 2016 alongside Alexandr Wang, who became the CEO while Guo ran the operations and product design teams. Both cofounders made the 2018 Forbes Under 30 list, but
Wang reportedly fired Guo that same year after disagreeing about how the company was run.

When she left, Guo held onto most of her stake of the company while pursuing her next business venture—and it paid off. Now,
Scale AI is wrapping up a tender offer that one source said will “go ahead provided the sky doesn’t fall down” and is slated to be completed by June 1. The deal reportedly values the company at $25 billion, making Guo’s estimated stake of just under 5% worth nearly $1.2 billion.

one of just six self-made women billionaires under the age of 40, in Kerry A. Dolan’s latest story here. And keep scrolling below for more in-depth journalism you can only get from Forbes.
