There are some pretty useful (and just plain cool) features hidden in your phone—if you know where to look. And even if you think you know your iPhone inside out, each new iOS update brings with it a handful of hacks that make everyday life easier.

One example? The easiest way to share a Wi-Fi password on an iPhone is to stand close to the other person, have them go into their Settings app and select the network, and then just … hit the “Share Password” button that pops up. You can also easily share the password with non-iPhone users by showing them a QR code in the Passwords app. No more reading alphabet soup aloud to your house guests.

And it’s built to last: One of our testers has had this sofa since 2016, and he says it’s still holding up great, despite two (!) cross-country moves and a lot of use in a dog household. Use promo code WIRECUTTER30 to get it for 30% off.

One last thing: White Lotus’ Carrie Coon swears by nipple cream as lip balm. We tested it.

Carrie Coon, who plays fortysomething divorcée Laurie Duffy on the third season of The White Lotus, recently mentioned on TikTok that her go-to lip balm is not a lip balm at all. It’s a lanolin-based … nipple cream. We knew we had to try it. And after using it for a few weeks and consulting dermatologists, we’re happy to report: Carrie Coon is (predictably) right about this one.
