Dear Mason District Community,
As we close out the first quarter of the year, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our officers and the continued support from our community.
I am pleased to report that our overall crime numbers are down – a direct result of our proactive policing efforts and our strong partnership with you.
One of our key initiatives this quarter has been ramping up traffic enforcement with the first wave of Operation Road Shark.
This effort has led to a significant increase in traffic stops, reinforcing our commitment to roadway safety and deterring reckless driving behaviors. We appreciate the cooperation of our community members as we continue working to keep our streets safe.
As we transition into warmer months and adjust to the time change, I encourage everyone to take extra precautions during morning hours as children make their way to school. With darker mornings, it’s crucial to ensure our young ones are visible and safe on their routes.
As spring break approaches, please remain attentive on the roads, drive safely, and be mindful of increased pedestrian activity in our neighborhoods.
You are the eyes and ears of our community; you play a vital role in maintaining safety. Your awareness and involvement are essential to keeping our community safe.
While residential burglaries remain below last year’s numbers, we have observed a slight increase in recent weeks and are closely monitoring the situation. I want to remind everyone to remain vigilant.
You know your neighborhoods better than anyone, and your awareness plays a critical role in keeping our community safe.
If you see anything suspicious, please do not hesitate to call us. Your attentiveness and willingness to report concerns help us act swiftly and effectively.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome newly promoted Captain Ramsy Saffoori to the Mason District team. We are excited to have him on board and look forward to his leadership and contributions to our mission.
Thank you for your ongoing support. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our district remains a safe and thriving place for everyone.
Stay safe and take care.
Sincerely,
Erin Weeks Major, Mason District Police Station
